From August 7, 2021, foreigners who have violated migration legislation will again be subject to administrative measures, including fines. Relevant amendments to the legislation were introduced by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of July 21, 2021 № 757 and entered into force on August 7, 2021.
A foreigner who violated terms of stay when leaving Ukraine will receive a decision from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine demanding to pay a fine, which can range from UAH 1700 to 5100 (USD 65-200).
The fine can be paid online on the website of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine by indicating the number of the decision, or by scanning the QR code on the decision.
It is important to keep in mind that the fine must be paid within 15 calendar days after the decision was issued. Otherwise a ban on entry into Ukraine for a period of 3 years may be applied.
It is possible to calculate one’s duration of stay using a special tool on the official website of the State Migration Service of Ukraine.
We also remind you that in case a foreigner has any unpaid fines in Ukraine (including traffic fines) while applying for a residence permit the State Migration Service may deny the application. Our lawyers can help to check if there are such barriers before submitting documents for obtaining a residence permit.
